Technology demonstrated in relevant environment (3600 LPD plant at CSIR-CSMCRI office campus; 3000 LPD plant at CSMCRI Scientist apartment colony); economic model prepared for full scale validation.
Business scope & opportunity (in terms of scale, cost, market etc.):
- The technology can be used in following sectors: Municipalities, urban development units, real estate, small to medium scale residential communities, apartments for sewage/grey water treatment; and agricultural & storm water.
- Capability: CSMCRI can design for small to medium scale i.e. 2 to 100 KLD plants
- Market: The system design is made based on Indian climatic conditions, therefore, it can be installed in any part of India, which are facing water scarcity problems.
Environmental Considerations:
- Protecting the environment from contamination due to untreated discharge of sewage, grey water etc.
- The DMCW technology focuses on UN SDGs like clean water & sanitation, sustainable communities and cities, sustainable production and consumption and food security
- The DMCW technology achieves national mission like Swachh Bharat
